Canned Replies are very useful tool for administrators (keymasters) and moderators allowing to pre-define common replies and use them when replying to topics or replies in the forums. If you run support forum this is a very handy way to quickly respond to repeating questions or point to existing resources.
Canned Replies are disabled by default, and you can enable them from the plugin Settings panel. You can change Canned Replies name to something else if you want. And, you can enable use of categories for the replies and you can set the name for that too. Finally, you have one extra option to auto close list of canned replies once you insert one of them into the reply content.
Once you enable Canned Replies, a new menu item is added in the plugins main menu. There you will find standard post edit panel where you can see all canned replies you have added, and you can edit them or add new replies. Editing is the same as for the WordPress posts or pages. If you choose to use Categories, you can set category for every reply and that will be used to better organize displayed replies for insertion.
Once you have one or more canned replies created, they will be added as a list above the reply content field in the front end. List will be hidden by default, and you need to click on the ‘Show Canned Replies List’ to display the list. If you used categories, Canned Replies will be displayed under belonging categories. It is recommended to use only one category for one reply to avoid repeated replies listed.
You only need to click on the reply title, and that reply content will be inserted into the content field. And after that list will auto close (you can disable that in plugin settings). You can insert more than one canned reply.
