Display a repository of all uploaded files?

I’m wondering if there is any way to display all uploaded docs from my forum users in one place? My users have requested this as it can be cumbersome for them to go looking for a file after the fact.

    Hi,

Can you elaborate more? Do you need to list attachments each user uploaded somewhere in the user profile, or list attachments in one place so that users can see them?

Right now GD bbPress Toolbox Pro has an admin side panel listing all attachments, and I plan to implement a list of attachments for each topic and each forum in the future (only in Pro plugin), but I am still looking for a way to do it without performance hit that will be caused by pulling a list of attachments from a range of posts.

    Hi Milan,
I’m thinking more of a list of attachments in one place so that users can see them. It would be really awesome if they could be categorized in some way – maybe just by the title of the topic they were posted in.

So for example, something like this:

    Marketing
    Flier-by-Jonah.jpg
    Class-Overview.pdf

    Research
    Tevons-sample-questions.doc
    Class-4-questions.doc

Thanks for your suggestion. I am still not sure how it will be done yet, but it has to be a dynamic list (AJAX loaded) because forums can have hundreds or thousands of attachments, maybe with the optional search or something like that. Still, this will be only available in GD bbPress Toolbox Pro plugin, most likely later this year.

Yes, it makes sense that this would be a pro feature! I’ll keep on the lookout. Thanks for your responsiveness!
