Hi,

I’m interested in looking into purchase of the GD Affiliate plugin however I need it to work with bbPress as well.

Your email suggested there was some required code adjustment to be made in the bbPress files. I’d like to test those code modifications on my local copy of the site before I even think about buying the plugin – I’ve had previous issues with modifications and plugins that have taken the forum offline so don’t want to repeat that.

Is that possible?

Plugin testing is available only via xscape.info website. But, you can test custom code there through any of our themes, they all allow adding custom PHP from the settings panel.

My suggestion for customization is too hook into actions in bbPress (no modification of files) and add code for ads or other things. This is limited by the availability of hooks where you might need them. If the hook is not there, you must edit templates. Plugin can only use actions and filters to modify content, same goes with bbPress.
