Hi, upgrading to 3.0 RC, all the taxonomy are keep intact but disappaired from the custom post type menu (always WP E.commerce). I’ve set the extended options in the plug-in for show in the menu and also in the post edit, but menu are not shown and custom taxonomy are not shown. Do i try to delete the custom taxonomy and recreate them?

Also deleting a custom taxonomy created by the plug-in i receive:

mmm there is something wrong… saving the new taxonomy after save is shown in the menu, then not shown in the single custom post edit, then disappear from the menu… help! :(

I am currently fixing some bugs. Both these bugs are fixed, I missed the second one, so thanks for reporting it.

As for WP Commerce, it seams that this plugin is not creating proper post type, and it also does it in the wrong time. I can’t do anything about that, its not related to my plugin.

I will have another RC released late tonight just in case. Final will be released tomorrow.

Hi thank u for notice. If is a WP Ecommerce plugin bug, i can notice to them. What i must said to them?

  • #7190

I have no idea what exactly is wrong, I would need to review their code to see what is the problem. But they need to make sure that post type registration they use is up to WP standards: features, settings, when it was registered. Many plugins use outdated post types registration code that has changed a lot over last 5-6 months.

due this is the most used e-commerce plugin and due that they don’t have facilities for create custom post type, i think could be useful to fix so is possibile to promote also your plugin as integration for new categories, etc.

I will try to check it out when I get time, but its not going to be for 3.0 Final tomorrow. My plugin does everything 100% compliant to WordPress rules on post types and taxonomies. I can try to get around bugs in some other plugins, but that is generally bad idea. I will see if there is some easy fix for commerce plugin, but if not, its all on the authors of that one.

Can you describe exact procedure what you do with both plugins and what is expected to happen, so I can recreate the problem?

    Hi, thank u!
I’ve installed WP Ecommerce last release, i’ve add with your plug-in two custom taxonomy with hiearchy called “editors” and “status”, and i’ve put in your configuration to have them visible and also in the post edit and post listing.

OK, I have installed the plugin, and added two taxonomies, both added to Products post type added by WP eCommerce plugin, and they both work. But, WP eCommerce is full with bugs, it breaks on most admin pages, slows loading, its adding large amount of JavaScript to pages causing bunch of jQuery bugs and errors, Firefox 4 crashes on most plugin pages and causes problems in all browsers. I can’t believe that plugin this buggy is released and used as a stable product. They need to fix a lot of things to consider this plugin stable. Who knows how many other bugs are in there.
