KeymasterAugust 22, 2018 at 9:24 am #59724Hi,
I am not sure about that. I have created two addons for myCRED for GD Rating System Pro (they don’t work with Free version), and one of them is free, the other one is not, and they are made according to myCRED specifications, and they have options to control number of votes per action (per rating), because, as far as I know, myCRED doesn’t have other methods to do so (it can’t count actions for awarding later, as you need here).
In any case, to use myCRED addons, you need GD Rating System Pro. Free (Simple myCRED Integration) addon awards points for posts (pages, custom post types) only, for all rating methods. Pro version allows you to set up complex rules for each rating method and each rating type (even terms, users, comments and everything else). But, they both work according to myCRED specs – each action awards points.

is there a way to give 5 points to authors if they get a 5 stars rating, 4 points for 4 stars, 3 for 3, etc. ?
Thanks -

ParticipantDecember 29, 2018 at 12:15 pm #60520Hi,
Is there any plan to add the feature to give points based on the rating (e.g. give 5 points to authors if they get a 5 stars rating, 4 points for 4 stars, 3 for 3, etc.)?
If the feature will be added in a few months, I will purchase both Go rating system Pro and Mycred Integration addon.
Looking forward to your reply!

KeymasterDecember 29, 2018 at 4:12 pm #60522Hi,
I don’t plan to implement that directly for two reasons:
1. Giving more points for a higher rating is unfair because you are driving users to give a higher rating for points, regardless of how they actually feel about the item they are rating.
2. The plugin has different rating methods that can’t be quantified in the same way, so there is no way to create a usable interface to cover all the methods for points assignments rules. However, next addon version (to be released in about 10 days) will include filters that will allow modification to the number of points assigned, and you can add your own code that will decide on points, and that can use rating value to do so.

Thank you very much for your explanation.

I do not intend to give points to users who give ratings, but content authors. So in this case, this type of issue would not happen, I guess.Anyway, I look forward to next addon version coming in 10 days.
Let me know once the update is released. Thanks,

KeymasterDecember 29, 2018 at 5:03 pm #60525Hi,
OK, this makes more sense. But, the other point here is that there is no way to have easy to use interface that will take into account differences between methods and what ratings they allow. But, I will include the code example on how to use the filters once the update is released.
