I’ve removed the blog slug from the permalink structure but want to know if this is really safe or if there is a safe way to do so. I’m having problem with the permalinks when mod_expire is enabled, may be some conflict? Or waht you think about?

Thank you

It shouldn’t be a problem to do that.

Good to know, but when the mod_expire is enabled post permalink are redirected randomly on homepage or category or another post not that in browser url bar.

I have no idea what mod_expire can be doing to cause that. If anyone else have some idea about this, please explain what the problem might be.

The problem in my case was the mod_expires enabled on the server by default and when disabled from .htaccess probably some cached files on the server aren’t deleted.
